Neubau Kärcher Museum by J.Mayer.H, Winnenden, Germany
Designed by J.Mayer.H this striking, monolithic museum took 3rd prize in a recent closed competition. The plans were created for the family-owned Kärcher company in Winnenden. Kärcher Museum is planned as a flexible hall that takes its orientation from the large size and saw-tooth roofs of the surrounding commercial structures. On the entrance side, the main body of the museum is cut open parallel to the access road, resulting in an enticing and generously sized entrance area. Huaku Sky Garden, Taipei, Taiwan
Designed by WOHA Architects, Huaku Sky Garden is located at the base of the foothills of the Yang Ming mountain range, in the Tianmu district of northern Taipei. Taiwan’s apartment architecture has been heavily influenced by Japanese colonial and 1980s post-modernism, resulting in heavy, solid blocks. This project breaks away from that influence and is the only high-rise residential tower in its neighbourhood. >>>
